Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is still going super strong at the box office, despite a number of new films hitting theatres in the last few days. While Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram has done stellar business down south, the film has not picked up that much in the north. Meanwhile Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj has crumbled at the box office, with reports of show cancellations doing the rounds as well.
Meanwhile, earlier today film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal that Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has actually registered tremendous growth on Thursday as it looks closer towards reaching the Rs 200 crore mark.
Adarsh tweeted, “#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 witnesses 92.95% growth on [fourth] Sat… Inches closer to ₹ 175 cr mark, which will be crossed on [fourth] Tue/Wed… [Week 4] Fri 1.56 cr, Sat 3.01 cr. Total: ₹ 167.72 cr. #India biz.”
The only film that has shown some growth, however, is Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer Janhit Mein Jaari. While the film, which also has Anud Singh Dhaka in the lead, did a meagre Rs 43 lakh business on its opening day, latest reports state that it has shows mammoth growth on day 2.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#JanhitMeinJaari witnesses an upward trend on Day 2… The much-required push [90.70% growth] came in at multiplexes of major centres… Day 3 [Sun] is important too, needs to grow further… Fri 43 lacs, Sat 82 lacs. Total: ₹ 1.25 cr. #India biz.”
On the other hand, one of the biggest releases of the year, Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj failed miserably at the box office, despite major promotions across cities. The film, based on the Braj language poem Prithviraj Raso, was also the launchpad for former Miss World Manushi Chhillar. The film did a meagre business of a little over Rs 50 crore in India.
