’40 mahamantris, 156 mantris but no workers’: BJP chief JP Nadda takes a dig at Congress

BJP national president JP Nadda on Wednesday took a dig at Congress saying that the grand old party has 40 mahamantris and 156 mantris but no workers in Madhya Pradesh.
“I met a Congress worker yesterday, he told me they have 40 mahamantris and 156 mantris but no workers. BJP follows a policy of nation first. We’ve to work for the country. Our will gives us workers making BJP the biggest party in the world,” ANI quoted Nadda as saying at Rajabhoj International Airport in Madhya Pradesh.
Nadda, who arrived at Bhopal airport earlier today for a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, was received by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The BJP chief later visited Gurudwara Nanak Tekri in Bhopal.
“It’d been 70 years but no one paid heed to the requirements of Sikhs. The task of connecting India with Pakistan via the Kartarpur corridor was undertaken by PM Narendra Modi at a cost of Rs 120 crore,” Nadda said.
In Bhopal, Nadda will also address the executive meeting at the Motilal Nehru Stadium. The event will be attended by all big leaders from Madhya Pradesh and cadre down to the level of division presidents.
On Thursday, the BJP leader will travel to his wife’s hometown Jabalpur to attend a series of organisational programmes. Nadda is married to Mallika Banerjee, who is the daughter of Jayashree Banerjee, a BJP leader, and ex-MP from Jabalpur.
Nadda will address the divisional core group meeting of the party, where functionaries from the tribal-dominated Mahakoshal region (seen as MP Congress chief and ex-CM Kamal Nath’s stronghold) will be present. He will also address the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Jabalpur.
His visit is seen as the starting point by the party to mobilise its cadres for all the polls, spanning from upcoming local bodies polls to the Vidhan Sabha polls in 2023 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
