Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who was arrested in October 2021 in the drugs-on-cruise case has been given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). On Friday, the NCB filed a charge sheet against 14 persons before a Mumbai court, which did not include Aryan’s name. SRK’s son is among the six persons who have not been charge-sheeted due to “lack of evidence.”
Aryan Khan’s lawyers Satish Maneshinde and Mukul Rohatgi have reacted to the anti-drug agency’s statement. Maneshinde, in his statement, called the detention of Aryan “unjustified” as there were no narcotics found at the time of the arrest. “The arrest and detention of Aryan Khan for 26 days was unjustified more particularly when he was not found in possession of any drugs, there was no evidence of any kind, there was no material of any nature of violation of any law much less the NDPS Act.”
“We are happy that the Special Investigation Team under Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh investigated the case in an objective manner and decided not to file a complaint against Aryan Khan for lack of sufficient evidence. God is Great. Satya Meva Jayate,” the senior advocate added.
Meanwhile, Rohatgi spoke about how the dark chapter was a “harrowing experience” for the Khan family. He said that Shah Rukh Khan is relieved as the truth has prevailed. “I’m relieved, and so must my clients be, including Shah Rukh Khan. The truth has prevailed. Ultimately, there was no material to charge this young man (Aryan Khan) or arrest him. He was not found with any drugs and I had clearly indicated to the court that the arrest was completely meaningless,” he told.
He expressed his happiness and added that he’s glad the agency has “admitted their mistake.” The advocate concluded by saying that all is well that ends well and now people should focus on Aryan’s bright future, instead of talking about the “dark chapter of 26 days.”
