Daggubati Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer F3: Fun and Frustration has been cleared with U certificate and is slated to hit theatres tomorrow, May 27. The laughter riot, directed by Anil Ravipudi, at 2 hours 28 minutes is a sequel to the 2019 hit F2, which too had the same actors in the lead roles along with Tamannaah, and Mehreen Pirzada.
According to Anil, Unlike Fun and Frustration, or F2, F3 is nothing about marriage and relationships. The original was a huge draw, touching people’s hearts and they wanted to continue with that craze. But F3 is all about money, and in ways more universal. “It will be a laughter riot,” the director opines.
Ahead of the film’s release, director Anil Ravipudi, who believes F3 will be a massy entertainer, in an exclusive interaction with Times Now Digital revealed that content is always king, citing, how Bollywood stars and films too have found wide acceptance down South.
Speaking about the film, Anil reveals, “When it comes to vibe, F3 is definitely a laughter riot like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. People will go mad when they watch the film in theatres. There are so many thrilling and fun elements. Both Venkatesh and Varun Tej have impeccable comic timings and they understand the genre.”
And he could be right, South films, in contemporary times have been able to find the audience pulse far more easily than Bollywood flicks. But Anil begs to differ. According to the director, content is always king, whoever the star helming the project may be.
Opening up on it, Anil opines, “Anyone can go anywhere and do good work, they just need to cater to audience demand. Back in the 90s Amrish Puri was the biggest star in Telugu cinema. He came from Bombay we looked up to him like anything.”
He further adds, “When Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s Hum Aapke Hai Kaun released I was a mere child. The film was dubbed and was a big draw here as well. Indian cinema, if good, will be watched anywhere.
According to the filmmaker, in Hindi cinema there are big stars and if they come up with proper content, they can any day rule over the box office. “Baazigar pakka commercial that but it was a huge draw, similarly, Darr was well received here too. All that matters is content,” he signs off.
