A lot has been said about Virat Kohli ever since the batting icon stepped down as the leader of the Team India side. One of the finest batters in the history of the game, Kohli has struggled for form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after dropping the captaincy bombshell at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last year. The batting icon of the Bangalore-based franchise has recorded three golden ducks in the 15th season of the cash-rich league.

Even though the three golden ducks have seemingly increased concerns about Kohli’s dwindling form, the former RCB skipper is unperturbed about what his critics have to say amid the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. According to Kohli, the former Team India and Bangalore skipper is in the happiest phase of his life. On Thursday, Kohli-starrer RCB will face table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in a must-win clash at the famous Wankhede Stadium.

Sharing his experiences on Star Sports‘ ‘INSIDE RCB‘ show, Kohli spoke at length about his current frame of mind. “Whatever I have experienced in this phase or in the past as well, one thing I can vouch for is that I have never valued myself more as a person. Because I’m experiencing now that there is a big sense of the identity that’s created by the world for you, which is far more different and so far away from the reality of you as a human being,” Kohli said.

The batting icon is on verge of recording his worst-ever season in the world’s richest T20 league. The only player to play for a single franchise in 15 seasons of IPL, Kohli has only registered a single half-century for RCB in the league phase. The 33-year-old has scored 236 from 13 matches. With 7 wins and 6 defeats, Kohli-starrer RCB are placed fifth on the IPL 2022 points table.
