‘Most constructive 50 minutes spent; Bhagwant Mann has no ego’: Navjot Sidhu after meeting Punjab CM

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday heaped praises on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after a meeting with him, saying he was “receptive” to his viewpoints and has no arrogance.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting that lasted nearly 50 minutes, Sidhu took a swipe at the Congress and Akalis and said the previous chief ministers did not have time for their own MLAs and even senior leaders for meetings.
“Most constructive 50 minutes spent… Reiterated the pro Punjab agenda that I have stood for years… Talked about means to generate income, it’s the only solution to end Punjab’s problem… CM @BhagwantMann was very receptive… Assured that he will deliver on people’s aspirations….,” he wrote on Twitter, sharing a video of his interaction with media.
Sidhu had announced yesterday that he would meet Mann to discuss matters regarding the “revival of state’s economy”.
“I came here for Punjab’s progress. What should I say about CM saab (Mann), he has no ego and arrogance. He is the same today like he was 10-15 years back and even six months back. He has as much pain as I have,” Sidhu said while talking to reporters at the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
The former Punjab Congress chief said that the meeting that began around 5.15 pm was very positive and was for issues concerning changing the lives of people. “When a person is receptive then you do not feel the passing of 50 minutes,” he said.
Sidhu and Mann discussed several issues ranging from sand mining, irregularities in the tender system, cable monopoly, and the alleged nexus between police, politicians and drug peddlers.
The meeting came days after Sidhu called Mann a “rubber doll”, referring to the Opposition allegation that the Punjab government is being run by the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP leadership from Delhi.
The former cricketer last month praised Mann as a “younger brother” and an “honest man”. Sidhu had said he would rise above party lines and support the Punjab Chief Minister if he fights against the mafia.
