We didn’t violate bail condition; will meet PM Modi, Amit Shah against our ill-treatment: Navneet Rana

Independent MP Navneet Rana and her MLA-husband Ravi, who reached Delhi on Monday, said they will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and inform them about their alleged ill-treatment by Maharashtra authorities when they were in jail recently.
Navneet Rana, the MP from Amravati in Maharashtra, and her MLA-husband Ravi Rana were arrested by Mumbai police last month following their public declaration of reciting Hanuman Chalisa outside Thackeray’s private residence in Mumbai ‘Matoshree’.
The lawmaker couple was granted bail by a special court on May 4. They walked out of jail on May 5.
Talking to reporters on Monday, Navneet Rana said, “I will meet all the leaders who respect women. I am going to meet the Prime Minister, (Union) Home Minister and Lok Sabha Speaker and tell them how we were ill-treated from a lockup to jail. I am going to complain about it.”
The parliamentarian also dismissed the charge that they committed contempt of court by speaking to the media.
On May 4, a special court in Mumbai while granting bail to the couple said the duo shall refrain from addressing the media on any subject related to the case.
Earlier today, the Mumbai police filed an application in the court here seeking cancellation of the bail granted to couple for allegedly violating court’s order.
“We did not violate bail condition. We were asked not to speak about the case. We did not talk about the offence, how it was registered against us, reciting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ and Matoshree. We spoke to media only about the ill-treatment meted out to us in the lock-up and how my health issues were ignored,” she added.
