On Irrfan Khan’s death anniversary, Babil pens emotional note remembering his Baba: You still breathe, in my thoughts

Actor Irrfan Khan’s demise left a void that can never be filled. The star, who’s known for his stellar performances in Bollywood and Hollywood films, lost his battle with cancer in April 2020. Since then, his son Babil has kept his memories alive.
Babil Khan often shares rare gems featuring his father with heartfelt captions. Today, on Irrfan Khan’s second death anniversary, his son paid tribute to him by writing an emotional note.
In the poem, written for Hindustan Times, he spoke about terribly missing his father. “Dear baba, I’m trying to remember that perfume you wore, when we travelled north to watch lights dance in Norway. I remember exactly, the feeling of your smell, but I can’t remember the materialism of it. I remember the sensation on my fingertips when you spread my palms to tell my fortunes but it frightens me to forget your playful pinch on my nostrils. I have begged, and I have cried to the heavens, to let not my body forget yet; for my soul is not ready to forfeit. I am not ready to move on, and I am alright with the idea that possibly I will never be, we were never governed by logic,” it read.
Several Irrfan Khan fans took to the comments section of Babil’s post to remember the legendary star. A netizen wrote, “Can absolutely feel and relate with every word.” Another commented, “I had tears in my eyes reading this. It’s extremely heartfelt. I a sure your Dad is reading this and smiling down on you.”
