CSK opener Devon Conway leaves IPL for his wedding, unavailable for selection for next one week: Report

Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) opener Devon Conway will be unavailable for selection for the next one week as he has left for South Africa for his wedding. Conway has only featured in one game for CSK so far. Hence, the team might not miss his services much.
As per ESPNcricinfo, Conway will rejoin CSK on April 24. As per the rules, the opening batsman will have to stay in isolation for 3 days and clear all the protocols before joining the camp. Conway will unavailable for selection for at least 2 games for the Yellow Army.
CSK are scheduled to take on Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 21). After the MI fixture, they will take on Punjab Kings on Monday (April 25). They will have a six-day break after the PBKS fixture and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday (May 1) in an evening fixture.
CSK threw a pre-wedding party for Conway before he left for SA. He posed with his teammates and a few players also shook a leg during the celebrations.
Conway had made his IPL debut for CSK in the opening game of IPL 2022 against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was dismissed for 3 before being dropped. Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Gaikwad are being backed to do the opening job by the team management.
Meanwhile, CSK will continue the hunt for their 2nd win of the season when they face MI. The Ravindra Jadeja-led side has only managed 1 win from 6 matches and is reeling at the 9th spot in the points table. Every defeat will hurt CSK’s chances at this stage and they need to get their campaign back on track.
MI have also struggled in the season and are yet to win a game. With 6 defeats from as many matches, the Rohit Sharma-led side is reeling at the last spot. MI and CSK won a game against each other in IPL 2021.
