Goons encouraged by TMC have become Frankenstein’s monsters, says BJP; demands FIR against Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar launched a blistering attack on Mamata Banerjee over the law and order situation in the state and said that goons encouraged by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to loot panchayat election votes have become Frankenstein monsters who aren’t even afraid of government and police.
Majumdar also blasted Mamata for her comments on the gang rape and death of a minor in West Bengal’s Nadia. The CM had hurled allegations at the victim and even questioned her character.
Mamata’s comments have ashamed the Bengali community, said the WB BJP chief and demanded an FIR against the CM for questioning the character of the gang-rape victim.
‘Daily murders and rapes are trademarks of Mamata’s Bengal’
“If rape cases are not reported in the state every day, people won’t feel that they are in Mamata Banerjee-ruled West Bengal. Daily murders and rapes are trademarks of Mamata’s Bengal,” he said.
Mamata Banerjee had questioned if the victim was actually raped or had a love affair that got her pregnant.
“How do you know if she was raped? The police are yet to ascertain the cause of the death. I had asked them. Was she pregnant or had a love affair or was sick? Even the family knew it was a love affair. If a couple is in a relationship, how can I stop them?” the Chief Minister said during an address at the inauguration of the ‘Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan’ on Monday.
‘Matter of shame if even a single crime against women is reported in Bengal’
“This is not Uttar Pradesh that I can do that in name of Love Jihad,” she further said adding that the state child commission will investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, a senior TMC MP Sougata Roy on Thursday said that not a single incident of violence against women should occur in a state helmed by a woman CM and there should be zero tolerance against such incidents.
Roy called it a “matter of shame” if even a single crime against women is reported in West Bengal headed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
