The television actress, who shot to fame after participating in the digital spin-off of Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss, often makes headlines for her over the top sartorial choices. She’s seen rocking bold outfits with great confidence. Not just her fashion statements, Urfi’s opinions are equally audacious.
However, this bold and beautiful actress’ journey hasn’t been a cakewalk. Urfi has had her fair share of struggles. From her conservative Muslim family not supporting her dreams to not getting good roles in television shows, Urfi has often been vocal about her battles. And in a recent interview, she once again opened up about her initial days in the industry.
In an interaction with Miss Malini, Urfi opened up about the financial problems she faced and revealed that she had to take up small roles because of a lack of opportunities. “It was years of mental trauma, physical trauma, toxic environment. It took me years to… finally, I was like, it’s either this or I will commit suicide. I wanted bigger things in my life. But paise ki majboori ki wajah se maine itne chhote chhote role kiye,” she was heard saying in the video shared by the publication on Instagram.
The clip also showed an emotional Urf trying to control her emotions. A teary-eyed Urfi spoke about not getting enough recognition and respect in the industry. She said, “Respect toh muje mili hi nahi hai television me. I don’t want to talk about this. It hasn’t been easy. I don’t want to cry, my makeup…”
Urfi also addressed being targetted by trolls and facing hate online for her clothes. Clapping back at those who criticise her, Urfi said, “People keep on hating me but I don’t care. Why would I care?”
