Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has had one of the most eye-opening record-breaking box office collections. The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 25 crore has managed to mint over Rs 238 crore in three weeks. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley during the Kashmir Insurgency during the 1990s, the movie has tugged at the heartstrings of the audience and roused an ongoing debate in the country.
As the film is closing in on its third week since its release, it is still growing even though it has been slightly affected by SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR. The pan-Indian film starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn has already grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide in a few days of being released.
The Kashmir Files week 3 box office collection
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that despite RRR‘s roaring box office collections, TKF is still maintaining a steady number flow at the cash counter. It earned over Rs 2 crore on March 31 and now the domestic box office collection amounts to Rs 238.28 crore.

The Kashmir Files box office collection benchmarks
During the first week, the Anupam Kher-starrer earned Rs 97 crore and went higher with Rs 110.03 crore in the second week. However, in the third week, the film took a dip due to RRR earning Rs 30.95 crore.
Last week, TKF had already crossed the lifetime box office collection of Sooryavanshi, which was yet the highest-grossing film in the post-pandemic era.
