UEFA Women’s Champions League: PSG secure semifinal spot after defeating Bayern Munich on aggregate in ET

Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team are headed to the semifinals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League after drawing with Bayern Munich 2-2 in the second leg are winning on an aggregate of 4-3.
The first goal in the second leg was scored by PSG but Bayern equalised soon after. In the second half, the German side scored netted another goal, equalising the scores on aggregate. The game went into extra time after which PSG substitute Ramona Bachmann scored a goal and secured the spot for the team on aggregate.
PSG substitute Ramona Bachmann grabbed the extra-time goal which gave PSG an aggregate 4-3 win over a Bayern side missing 12 players through injury and illness.
Swiss star Bachmann drifted away from her marker to score into the far corner past the dive of goalkeeper Janina Leitzig.
Sandy Baltimore had given the French side a 17th minute lead with a clever lob.
However, Bayern levelled on the night through Saki Kumagai just two minutes later.
Klara Buehl, who had also scored in the first leg, then put the German side in front and level on aggregate on 54 minutes with a shot deflected in by Lea Schueller.
PSG will face either seven-time champions Lyon or Juventus for a place in the final.
The match saw a record-breaking attendance for a women’s match at the at the Parc des Princes stadium with more than 21,000 supporters.
However, the previously concluded match between Barcelona and Real Madrid stole the show when it broke the world record for the all-time record of the biggest official women’s crowd ever on the planet, after Barcelona’s stadium Camp Nou was sold out with 91, 553 spectators.
Barcelona crushed Real Madrid 8-3 on aggregateand are headed to the semifinals.
The final is scheduled for May 21 at Juventus’s Allianz Stadium in Torino, Italy.
