Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has been a part of several controversies. From being accused of spreading political propaganda to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s reaction to the government making the movie tax-free, The Kashmir Files has been making the headlines ever since its release. The director of the movie Vivek Agnihotri has now shared a shocking video on his social media as he cited an example of how ‘Kashmiri Hindus were removed from the valley’.
Vivek Agnihotri is amongst the few celebrities who do not shy away from putting forth his views on social media. The filmmaker recently shared a shocking video of a maulvi saying that The Kashmir Files should be banned.
Sharing the video on his Twitter, Vivek also shared that this is how ‘Kashmiri Hindus were removed from the valley’. He tweeted in Hindi, “Maulvi Sahib of Rajouri says: “This film should be closed… Humne 800 saal tum pe hukumat ki you want to erase our mark in 70 years rule…” Friends, in the same way, the name and the existence of Kashmiri Hindus were erased from Kashmir.”
Meanwhile, in a recent interaction with Times Now Navbharat, Anupam Kher also opened up about the film and hit back at those who accused the movie to be political propaganda. The actor told Navika Kumar, “Not at all. This film is being made political because ‘khisiyani billi khamba noche’ (an embarrassed person who tends to vent his/her feeling by quarrelling). If political patronage would have made any film successful, then the biopic of Prime Minister would have done a business of Rs 1000 crore.”
The veteran actor also replied to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s reaction to the government making The Kashmir Files tax-free. The CM of Delhi also mocked the film by saying that the movie should be uploaded on YouTube instead so that everyone can watch the film. Anupam Kher replied to this and said, “I must say that I was deeply hurt both as a fraternity of entertainers and more so as a Kashmiri Hindu.” He further added, “He should not come across a caricature, he is a real person, he is an educated person, he is an IRS officer. Ek anpad gawaar aadmi bhi aisi baat nahi karta hai.”
The Kashmir Files hit the theatres on March 11, 2022, and has done a business of Rs 219.08 crore in India till now.
