The young actress of Bollywood, Ananya Panday, who garnered rave reviews for her subtle yet impeccable performance in Shakun Batra’s recent release Gehraiyaan, shared her views on infidelity in relationships.
For the unversed, Gehraiyaan, which also featured Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Dhairya Karwa, Rajat Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles, dealt with complexities and infidelity in modern-day relationships. In a recent interaction, when Ananya was asked her views on infedility in relationships, the actress said that she emphasises a lot on loyalty and trust but Gehraiyaan made her realise that people shouldn’t be judgemental.
“Honestly, the kind of person that I am, I emphasise a lot on loyalty and trust. So I don’t think I would be okay with cheating. But, with this film, we’ve learned that we shouldn’t be judgmental, if we don’t know everything about a situation,” Ananya told ETimes.
“So I would like to believe that I wouldn’t know how I would react unless I’m in the situation. But if you asked me straight up, I would not be okay with it,” added the actress.
Ananya also revealed that her father and actor Chunky Panday watched Gehraiyaan twice and is happy and proud of her work.
On the professional front, Ananya Panday will be next seen in Liger, which marks the Bollywood debut of Tollywood actor Vijay Deverakonda. The films is directed Puri Jagannadh (known for Temper, iSmart Shankar, Desamuduru, Golimaar, Businessman, Iddarammayilatho, Heart Attack and others), is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar and Puri Jagannadh under the banner of Dharma Productions and Puri Connects.
It is shot in Tamil and Telugu. The film also features Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. It marks the Bollywood debut of legendary boxer Mike Tyson. The film is set to hit the screens on August 25.
The actress has reunited with her Gehraiyaan costar Siddhant Chaturvedi for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which also features Gourav Adarsh of The White Tiger fame. The film marks the directorial debut of Arjun Varain Singh. It is written by Zoya Akhtar, Arjun Singh, Reema Kagti and produced by Zoya, Kagti, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banners of Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment.
The film is expected to hit the screens in 2023.
