Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files was passed by CBFC with zero cuts; filmmaker himself was a part of the Board

Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files is garnering love and attention for all the right reasons. The film narrates the real-life chilling experiences focused on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s. The audience is loving the film and it is safe to say that the movie has touched the hearts of all the Kashmiri Pandit in the nation.
The film also garnered support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister Amit Shah also praised the film for portraying the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits in its truest forms. But not many know that The Kashmir Files was actually passed with zero cuts.
Yes, you read that right, Vivek himself was part of the Board. Sighting the same, TMC spokesperson Saket Gokhale shared a post on Instagram and wrote, “This morning, I was casually looking at the Censor Board (also known as CBFC) data for the movie. Guess what? Kashmir Files has been granted a CBFC/Censor certificate WITHOUT A SINGLE CUT.”
Vivek and the lead actors of the film Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi put theirs hearts into this film. The criticism and death threats toward the filmmaker increased so much that the Central government has accorded ‘Y’ category security cover to director with CRPF cover Pan India. This is the third-highest security in the country that has been given to Agnihotri.
As much audience is loving the narrative of the film, many are still criticising it for showing half-truth. Before the release of the film, Vivek deactivated his Twitter account due to recurring death threats. The Kashmir Files has been declared tax-free in several states including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana, Gujrat, and Uttrakhand.
