Ranbir Kapoor reveals he was willing to wear prosthetics to play Rishi Kapoor’s part in Sharmaji Namkeen: The show must go on…

It was the unfortunate day of April 30, 202o when the industry lost gem Rishi Kapoor. The actor passed away from leukaemia and his demise left millions across the country shattered. But his fans can now see the actor and his charismatic smile once again as his last film Sharmaji Namkeen is all set to release. The film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video soon. Ahead of the release, Rishi Kapoor’s son-actor Ranbir Kapoor shared a video message for fans.
In one of the promotional videos shared by the streaming platform, Ranbir is seen getting emotional as he talks about Rishi Kapoor. The Brahmastra actor recalled the time when his father fell sick during the filming of the comedy-drama. Ranbir said that even though Rishi wanted to be back on the sets and complete the shoot, his health did not allow the same. They were worried that they won’t be able to complete it and that’s when Paresh Rawal stepped in.
However, way before Paresh Rawal decided to play late Rishi’s part, Ranbir had pitched that he will wear prosthetics and with the use of VFX, they will be able to complete the film. “Unke jaane k baad ek pal k liye lagga ki shayad film poori nahi hogi. Humne socha VFX try karte hai. Mai prosthetics pehen k yeh role poora karun but nothing was working out and that’s when Mr Paresh Rawal stepped in.”
Ranbir shared that life had different plans for Rishi who passed away during the shooting of Sharmaji Namkeen. The 39-year-old actor said that Rishi’s death shook them all and the makers were quite worried about completing the shoot of the film. Ranbir said, “You must have heard ‘The show must go on’, but I’ve seen Papa live his life.”
Sharmaji Namkeen will be released on March 31, 2022. The trailer of the film will be out tomorrow, April 17, 2022.
