Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut who never holds herself back while speaking her mind, recently watched the much talked about film The Kashmir Files. Featuring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar in the lead roles, this film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency. Kangana, after watching the film, interacted with the media and reviewed Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files.
Kangana Ranaut, while talking to the media, told that the movie is so good that it has ‘washed away the sins of entire Bollywood’. The Dhaakad actress was quoted saying, “bohot bohot badhai. Unhone pure film industry ko, jitne bhi Bollywood ke kiye hue paap hai, aaj inhone dho diye sabne milke”. Kangana further said that instead of promoting ‘faltu films’, the entire film industry should come out, support and promote The Kashmir Files. She said, “yeh film itni acchi hai ki sab industry wale jo chupe huye hai apni billon mein chuho ki tarah, nikalke aana chahiye aur promote karna chahiye iss film ko.”
Kangana Ranaut also shared a post in one of her Instagram stories and wrote, “The Kashmir Files is the first successful and profitable Hindi film in theatres post pandemic… I am telling you all this because movie mafia their chatikaar and their bikau media won’t tell you… no one from the industry will applaud or appreciate it so I am doing my bit.”
Bollywood actress Yami Gautam also requested her fans and followers on social media to go and watch The Kashmir Files. She retweeted her husband Aditya Dhar’s tweet on the movie that read, “You might have seen numerous videos of Kashmiri Pandits breaking down in the theatres after watching #TheKashmirFiles. The emotion is real. It shows how long we kept our pain and tragedy repressed as a community. We didn’t have any shoulder to cry on and no ear to hear our pleas.”
Yami is married to filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who is a Kashmiri Pandit. The Dasvi actress shared on Twitter, “Being married to a Kashmiri Pandit, I know first hand of the atrocities that this peace-loving community has gone through. But majority of the nation is still unaware. It took us 32 years and a film to get to know the truth. Please watch and support #TheKashmirFiles”.
Akshay Kumar also praised Anupam Kher for his performance in The Kashmir Files in a tweet that read, “Hearing absolutely incredible things about your performance in #TheKashmirFiles @AnupamPKher Amazing to see the audience back to the cinemas in large numbers. Hope to watch the film soon. Jai Ambe.”
Meanwhile, speaking about Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming projects, the actress will be next seen featuring in a lead role in Dhaakad and Tejas. She will also reportedly star in The Incarnation: Sita and Emergency.
