The Portuguese forward is eager to win one or two more major honours before hanging up his boots. His absence from the Manchester City match in the Premier League over the weekend was seen by many as an early attempt to seek clarity on the future beyond this season.
Ronaldo had reportedly travelled to Portugal, with a hip injury being cited as the reason. However, there are those too who feel that the real reason behind Ronaldo’s trip was his future beyond this season.
If the 37-year-old does go on to join PSG, it would indeed be a historic milestone in the history of football, with the two GOATs playing with each other for the first time ever.
PSG have also been linked with another Man Utd forward, Marcus Rashford, as Kylian Mbappe’s replacement. Rashford was also linked with a move to the Parisians last summer when Mbappe was being courted by Real Madrid. If Mbappe leaves the French giants in the summer, Rashford could go on to replace him.
Amid lack of playing time under manager Ralf Rangnick, Rashford is said to be going frustrated at Manchester United. With PSG boss Maurcio Pochettino being an admirer of the Englishman, PSG is seen as a lucrative destination for the young forward.
