Incumbent Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday exuded confidence to form government in Uttarakhand. Dhami said that the BJP would get more seats as predicted by the various exit polls. Notably, pollsters seemed to be divided over Uttarakhand. Most of the exit polls gave an edge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2022.
The Uttarakhand CM stated that the people of the state had voted for the BJP due to the work done by his party in the state. Dhami in a statement said, “Most exit polls have shown BJP govt in Uttarakhand, even those numbers are less, our numbers will be more and we will form a majority government. People have given certificate to the work done by BJP in the state.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader and former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat said that the grand old party would form the government in Uttarakhand. He stated that the people of the state had voted for a change. “Exit poll is an exit poll . We know about people’s emotions, and they have voted for Congress and change. Decision will be in favour of Congress.”
The exit poll results 2022 were released by various media houses on Monday evening after the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election had concluded. Times Now-Veto Exit Polls projected a thin majority for the saffron party with 37 seats out of 70, while the Congress could win 31 seats. India-Today Axis My India predicted a clean majority for BJP in in the hill state. However, according to the ABP News-CVoter Exit Polls, the Congress is likely to get 32-38 seats and BJP likely to bag 26-32.
The assembly elections for 70 seats in Uttarakhand took place on February 14, 2022. The main contest was between the ruling BJP and the Congress. The election results will be declared on March 10 along with Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa and Manipur.
