NCP chief Sharad Pawar while speaking in Osmanabad took a dig at former Maharashtra Chief Minister and leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis. The NCP supremo again referred to Fadnavis’ renowned Marathi comment of ‘Mee Punha Yeyeen’ (I will be back as CM), which he had said before the state elections.
“Some people don’t under that politics should not be done during difficult times. Before elections only he (Fadnavis) was saying that he will be back as CM. We clearly didn’t allow that to happen. Now, we have ensured that he will never be back as CM. This Maha Vikas Aghadi Government is holding strong,” Pawar said.
In a rebuttal, BJP leader Gopichand Padalkar released a video criticising Pawar for his remarks against Fadnavis.
“I saw the speech by Sharad Pawarji and I feel he was helpless and disappointed. The reason maybe he was not called for inaugural function of Pune metro (done by PM Modi) and that’s why he is still angry on Fadnavis and thus makes such statements,” Padalkar said.
Padalkar said that the alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena under the leadership of Fadnavis had got a lot more than majority but the Sena ditched the voters of state.
“Under the leadership of Fadnavis, BJP got 105 seats and Shiv Sena won 56 which means together 161 MLAs (BJP-Sena alliance) of both parties got elected by people to make Fadnavis CM again. But by giving speech in rain (Pawar’s speech in the rain in Satara) you only got 56 MLAs. Which means people are still with us and not with you. Then why to spread wrong information.”
He further added that Pawar being a powerful politician has still not been able to make an NCP CM in Maharashtra since the birth of their party.
The BJP MLC also said that Fadnavis has given opportunities to leaders from backward communities. “The way he has brought young leaders like me, Ram Satpute and Sadabhau Khot shows his leadership skills. Bringing people from backwards class in the mainstream politics needs courage and that why established leaders are jealous about him,” he said.
