On Thursday, the first look of actor Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor’s debut film was released. Titled Bedhadak, the film is being backed by Karan Johar and will also star Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada. As new posters from the upcoming movie have gone viral, a throwback interview of Shanaya’s mother, Maheep Kapoor, has grabbed attention. Sanjay, who is known for films like Sirf Tum and Raja in the ’90s, had earlier spoken about Shanaya getting ready for the Hindi film industry.
He had said Shanaya, who wanted to be an actress for a long time, will learn from her mistakes and experience and he will always be by her side. His wife Maheep, who made waves with Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives in 2020, spoke about Sanjay’s reaction if Shanaya had a kissing scene in her future films.
She had told Peeping Moon that Sanjay would definitely be shocked but he won’t interfere in Shanaya’s work. “Inside, Sanjay will be like, ‘Oh no, what am I watching?’ but when it comes to her work, he’ll keep quiet,” she had said. Before starting her acting project for Bedhadak, Shanaya was an assistant director on cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl in 2020.
Being directed by Shashank Khaitan, Bedhadak will release soon. In the new posters, Shanaya has been introduced as Nimrit, who flaunts a gorgeous corset top with denim shorts, knee-high boots and a loose denim jacket. Another poster features a close-up look of the debutante actress, which has garnered much attention among celebrities and fans.
Presenting the poster, Shanaya penned, “I am extremely grateful and humbled to join the Dharma Family with #Bedhadak – directed by the brilliant Shashank Khaitan. I can’t wait to kickstart this journey, I need all your blessings and love!”
