Women’s World Cup: ICC post wrong scorecard of India’s warm-up match vs SA; Yastika Bhatia clarifies

In a bizarre turn of events ahead of the 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, the International Cricket Council (ICC) posted the wrong scorecard and result of the match on their website. In the initial update of the game, it was written that the South African women’s team won the match by four wickets on the last delivery of the game.
However, a few moments later, the official scorecard of the game went viral on social media showing that India had won the game by two runs. By this time; the Cricket South Africa (CSA) official Twitter account had also tweeted that the Proteas had won the game.
With the confusion spreading across the cricket community and social, Indian batter Yastika Bhatia took to Twitter to give a confirmation of the result. The offical result saw Indian women winning the game by two runs. Vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur showed signs of returning to form as she scored a century. Bhatia had an impressive outing herself with a knock of 58. With the ball, Rajeshwari Gayakwad took four wickets for the Women in Green in the match held at the Rangiora Oval.
Later, it also emerged that the two teams played a mock Super Over. This was won by Indians; who chased down the nine runs with one ball remaining.
