India will be forced to make a change at the top of the batting order in the third and final T20I on Sunday (February 27) against Sri Lanka in Dharamshala after wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the match. Kishan had suffered a blow to his head while batting in the second T20I on Saturday and had to be taken to a hospital for further checks.
The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Kishan was taken to the hospital alongside a team doctor and underwent a CT scan; whose reports are normal. However, the medical team is monitoring Kishan for concussion symptoms.
Mayank Agarwal is likely to replace Kishan in the playing XI and open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma. Sanju Samson will take over wicket-keeping duties. Mayank was originally not part of the squad for the series but flew to Dharamshala before the second game after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the series.
India are missing various prominent names in this series and Kishan is the latest addition to the list. Ex-skipper Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested and given a bio-bubble break while KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Deepak Chahar are missing due to injuries.
