Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda lashed out at the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) for supporting criminals in Uttar Pradesh. Addressing a rally in UP’s Kushinagar amid the ongoing state assembly election, he took the name of accused Azam Khan and Mukhtar Ansari, and alleged that they used to have the upper hand and government support during the reigns of the SP.
He further noted that all these accused hid after Yogi Adityanath-led BJP assumed power in the state and are currently serving jail terms.
“Wouldn’t Azam khan, Mukhtar Ansari have an upper hand under Akhilesh Yadav’s government? Under Yogi Ji, they hid themselves in burrows (bill) and are now playing ‘Gillidanda’ in jail,” Nadda was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Addressing the rally, he claimed that the welfare policies of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a special role in the development of Uttar Pradesh, as he urged people to vote for the party in the ongoing election.
He said that only BJP has the power to keep the report card of its work done in front of the public, no other party has this power.
In a further attack on the SP, Nadda said that when the BJP leaders were fighting the battle of Ram Janmabhoomi, the SP government had opened fire on the devotees of Lord Ram. “But we were still determined that we will build the temple there. Today a grand Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya. This is the power of your vote,” he said.
Nadda asked that if they want to end Mafia Raj and terrorism and maintain law and order in the state, then it is necessary to make Akhilesh Yadav sit at home.
The BJP chief also talked about the new international airport at Kushinagar. “Today an international airport has been built in Kushinagar. Now devotees of Lord Buddha from all over the world will be able to come here directly. This will encourage the tourism here. From here the devotees will go to Sarnath, Bodh Gaya and other areas,” he added.
Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar is the final resting place of Gautama Buddha where he attained Mahaparinirvana after his death. It is among the most important pilgrim spots for Buddhists.
