Tollywood’s favourite lovebirds Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya parted ways last year. The actors announced their separation in a joint statement in October 2021 leaving fans heartbroken. While both have maintained a dignified silence despite the rather ugly rumours, their fans are still reeling from the news of separation.
Several old interviews and videos have been resurfacing online and amid this, we stumbled upon Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s media interaction from 2018. In an interview with a Telugu news channel, Samantha had allegedly taken a jibe at her ex-beau Siddharth and even spoken about Chay.
Talking about her National Award-winning film Mahanati, she had said, “Even I would have also gone through the same experience Savitri had. But, I realised it and came out of it. I knew that our relationship wouldn’t end well. I consider myself to be fortunate that I have got a husband like Naga Chaitanya.”
Sadly, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s romance was short-lived as they parted ways four years after their marriage. Announcing their separation after weeks of speculation, the duo had shared a statement on social media. It read, “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”
“We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during the difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support,” the actors had said in her statement
Meanwhile, on the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be next seen in epic love saga Shakuntalam. The makers of the upcoming mythological movie recently unveiled the first look poster of the film. Based on Shakuntala and Dushyanta’s love story, it is an adaption of Mahabharata’s Aadi Parva. It also stars Dev Mohan, Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha and Kabir Duhan.
Naga Chaitanya, on the other hand, has Laal Singh Chaddha, Thank You and a web series in the pipeline.
