Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar got married on February 19. They opted for an intimate vow ceremony. The wedding took place at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Khandala farmhouse. For the big day, Shibani wore a red corset gown with a beautiful red veil. On the other hand, Farhan looked dapper in a black shirt, pants and coat with a bow tie.
A lot of their pictures and videos from the wedding went crazy viral on socila media. Today, the two were spotted together for the first time post their wedding. Shibani looked drop-dead gorgeous in a peach floral saree with a full-sleeved blouse. She wore heavy jewellery along with her elegant saree. On the other hand, Farhan Akhtar wore a peach kurta-pyjama set with a Nehru jacket.
The duo looked like a match made in heaven as they happily posed for the paparazzi. They also distributed sweets to the media people.
Celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Omprakash Mehta, Ashutosh Gowariker, film producer Ritesh Sidhwani, actress Rhea Chakraborty with her brother Showik Chakraborty, Raveena Tandon’s husband Anil Thadani, Sameer Kochar, Zoya Akhtar, Rakesh Roshan, Saqib Saleem and others attended their wedding.
A video of Farhan and Hrithik Roshan dancing on their song, Senorita from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara also surfaced on the internet. Farhan and Hrithik are seen doing the hook step of the song. Hrithik Roshan was seen in a white kurta-pyjama set with a light-hued Nehru jacket.
For Farhan and Shibani’s special day, the former’s father, Javed Akhtar, read out a poem that he had specially composed for this occasion. The couple had haldi and mehendi functions a day before where Shibani’s sister, Anusha Dandekar, performed on Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna song from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s hit film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, with Rhea.
It was Javed Akhtar who had first confirmed the news of Farhan and Shibani’s wedding in an interview with Bombay Times. He had said, ” Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners. Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people.”
For the unversed, Farhan was earlier married to Adhuna Bhabani. They divorced each other after 16 years of marriage.
