AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, said that the ones who attacked his vehicle in Uttar Pradesh were ‘people with the mindset same as those who killed Gandhi’. Speaking in Sambhal, Owaisi questioned that if Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claims that mafia raj in UP has ended, ‘who were the ones to fire bullets at him’.
“They are descendants of Godse. They are people with the mindset same as those who killed Gandhi. They are the same who want to disrespect the Constitution of Ambedkar. They don’t trust rule of law but the rule of guns. They don’t trust ballots but bullets,” Owaisi said.
Speaking in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, Owaisi launched an attack on the Yogi Adityanath government and said that if the mafia has gone to jail as claimed by the CM, Home Minister, and the Prime Minister, then who were the ones to fire bullets at him.
I am a free bird, says Owaisi
Owaisi’s convoy was attacked last week near a toll plaza. In the video footage of the incident, two individuals were seen firing at Owaisi’s vehicle. The police have arrested two people in connection with the matter. In a confession statement, one of the accused said that he was miffed with the Owaisis after Asaduddin Owaisi’s brother Akbaruddin Owaisi’s statement that the Red Fort, the Qutub Minar, and other such places were given to India by his forefathers.
Earlier this week, Owaisi rejected the Union Home Ministry’s offer to provide a Z-category security cover to him. Speaking in the Parliament, Union home Minister Amit Shah urged Owaisi to accept the government’s offer. However, Owaisi said that he was a ‘free bird’ and did not want to be flanked by armed guards.
