Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, whose party is set to make electoral debut in Uttarakhand, on Monday said that they will make the hill state an “international spiritual capital for Hindus” if they win the upcoming polls.
“We will make Uttarakhand an international spiritual capital for Hindus. This will enhance the tourism extensively, we hope that it will provide employment opportunities to thousands of youth here,” he said at a press briefing in Haridwar.
Describing the state polls as “historic”, Kejriwal said that there can be a major change. “An honest government can be formed in the state for the first time through which corruption can be eliminated,” said Kejriwal.
Polling in Uttarakhand is scheduled to be held on February 14. The results will be announced on March 10.
Kejriwal also reiterated that AAP will facilitate free pilgrimage trips to Ayodhya, Ajmer Sharif and Kartarpur Sahib if his party is voted to power in Uttarakhand.
“Darshan of Ayodhya ji will be facilitated for people of Uttarakhand. Muslims will be facilitated to have darshan of Ajmer Sharif,” he added.
The AAP chief has been making regular visits to Uttarakhand for the last couple of months.
In his previous visits, Kejriwal promised to generate one lakh jobs in Uttarakhand if his party is voted to power in the 2022 Assembly polls. He also promised 80 per cent reservation in jobs in the state, both in the government and private sectors, for the youth.
