United Arab Emirates U19 will lock horns with Ireland U19 in the Plate-Final game in the ongoing ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The match will be played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad and will be live from 6:30 PM IST.
The hosts UAE U-19 have been a force to reckon with in the plate playoffs in this year’s edition. The Alishan Sharafu-lead side went on to beat the hosts West Indies in the 9th place playoff. The UAE U-19 managed to put up a fighting 224 runs on the board.
The Windies U-19 batting line-up failed miserably and the UAE U-19 side was able to capatalise and dismissed the hosts for a mere 142 runs. The UAE side will be proud of their performance considering how they were outplayed in the group stages.
Ireland on the other hand defeated Zimbabwe’s U19 side in their last game. The Zimbabweans were bowled out by the Irish for just 166 runs on the board. Although the Irish had to witness two early setbacks but a solid partnership between Jack Dickson and Tim Tector got them home.
Both teams will now look to finish the tournament on a high after their recent positive run in the last few matches. The Ireland side is slightly ahead on odds to win the Plate final.
