Former Congress leader RPN Singh, who joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  hit out at Congress saying that the grand old party’s mentality has changed over the times.
Addressing a press conference, Singh said, “I spent 32 years in one political party (Congress). But that party has not remained the same as it was before.”

Heaping praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the newly-inducted leader said in just few years PM Modi has connected our (country’s) historical culture with new era.

“I will work as a ‘karyakarta’ towards fulfilling PM Modi’s dreams for India,” Singh said after joining BJP.

Former Union minister and Congress leader RPN Singh on Tuesday joined the saffron party the presence of BJP’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Earlier, another big Congres leader in Uttar Pradesh Jitin Prasada had joined BJP in 2021. The Yogi Adityanath government had later made Prasada minister.

“This is a new beginning for me and I look forward to my contribution to nation building under the visionary leadership & guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, BJP president Shri @JPNadda ji & Honourable Home Minister @AmitShah ji,” Singh had tweeted before joining BJP.

Notably, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who had earlier quit the Congress and joined BJP, was also present for Singh’s joining in ceremony.

Scindia addressed Singh as his ‘brother’ and welcomed him not into the saffron party fold.

Pradha, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was also present for the induction ceremony of RPS Singh.

Singh also praised Yogi Adityanath government for bringing in development in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

“Uttar Pradesh is the heart of India. In the past 7years huge development has taken place in the state. Everybody has seen it. Double engine sarkaar has worked for it,” Singh said.
