Priyanka Chopra’s line-up of films in the coming months is getting better than the last. She recently took over headlines after starring as Sati in The Matrix Resurrections. Having landed a lead role in a mainstream global film with a cult following of over 20 years, Priyanka certainly pulled off her role with utmost grace. In her recent interview, Priyanka opened up about landing a mainstream Hollywood film that is part of pop culture.
Talking about the struggles back when she started her international journey ten years ago, she told Vanity Fair, “The Matrix Resurrections is as mainstream as it gets. It took 10 years but here we are. It took 10 years of knocking on doors and making introductions and sort of hoping to be a part of mainstream global pop culture, working towards it.”
She added that feels grateful for being a part of such a great legacy and being accepted by her colleagues. “I feel really grateful to be getting those opportunities and I feel as an accepted with my colleagues. That’s a really great feeling. But walking on the set of Matrix 4 and the legacy that it stands for I just wanted to stay quiet and be a fly on the wall and just watch what they do. I remember being starstruck the whole time. I just feel really grateful to be a part of such a large legacy,” she said.
While many desi fans and celebs have been proud of the actress for putting India on the global entertainment industry map, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif showered love on Priyanka for her latest achievement.
Talking about her 20-year acting career, Priyanka wrote in the caption, “It was so surreal to shoot My Career Timeline for Vanity Fair. 20 years that seem like they went by in a blink, but when I went down memory lane, it was a great reminder that if you pound the pavement hard enough, eventually people stop and notice.”
Katrina replied with a red heart emoji. Soon, fans liked the Bharat actress’ comment and began asking for an update on Jee Le Zaraa. For the unversed, Katrina and Priyanka will be seen together in the upcoming road trip film Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt, to be directed by Farhan Akhtar. It is set to go on floors in mid-2022.
