Kangana Ranaut puts back pastry on plate after posing to eat it, netizens say, ‘Saray germs laga dia’

The rapid spread of the coronavirus has created a lot of new normals, changing things from what was considered to be fairly ordinary. The cries for hygiene have gone considerably up, and rightfully so. People are urged to maintain social distancing, sport masks and follow basic hygiene practices in their daily lives. These precautionary restrictions are not limited to common people, but celebrities as well. Thus, it came as a shocker to many, when in a recent clip doing rounds on social media, Bollywood National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut was seen posing with a piece of cake close to her mouth for paps, before placing it back on the tray with the other pieces.

While it may have been a common thing to do during pre-pandemic times, the normal post-COVID-19 has changed and Kangana’s short clip seems to have ruffled a few feathers on social media. In the clip shared by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani on social media, Kangana can be seen posing with the piece of cake before putting it back on the platter being carried by the waiter. The gesture, innocent enough, for the benefit of the paparazzi has led to netizens crying out about basic hygiene rules and how it was wrong with respect to the rapid spread of Omicron in the country.

Soon after the video was posted, a number of people took to the comment section and called out the Thalaivi actress for her gesture.

“Eww, khana nahi tha to mih ke itne pas cake kyu leke gaye!? And fir se wahi cake tray me rakh diya. Dusra koi usse kaise khayega! Unhygienic. If you bring food that close to uour mouth then eat it rather than putting back so that no other person eats it and get infected by your mouth germs,” commented a fourth.

For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut had tested positive for COVID-19 last year in May. The Thalaivi actress had posted a picture of herself practising yoga and wrote that she was planning a trip to Himachal and took a test. “I was feeling tired and weak with slight burning sensation in my eyes for past few days, was hoping to go to Himachal so got my test done yesterday and today the result came I am covid positive,” her note read.
