RailTel declares interim dividend of Rs 1.75/share for FY22; company sets January 21 as record date

State-run telecom infrastructure company RailTel Corporation of India has declared an interim dividend of Rs 1.75 per share for the financial year 2021-22. The record date for the purpose of payment of Interim dividend of FY 2021-22, has kept at January 21. The decision was announced after the board of directors held a meeting on Monday.

“Board of Directors of the RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RCIL), a Central Government PSU under Ministry of Railways at its meeting held today i.e. on 10th January 2022 has declared an Interim Dividend at the rate of 17.5% of paid-up share capital (Rs. 1.75 /- per share) for the FY 2021-22,” the company said in a BSE filing.

The total pay out of the dividend is Rs 56 crore approximately, the statement added.

Puneet Chawla, CMD, RailTel said, “RailTel continues to be a profitable company since FY 2006-07. Despite the challenge posed by Covid pandemic, RailTel managed to make rapid growth and recorded its highest ever consolidated income in FY 2020-21 of Rs 1411 crore, a growth of 21% and achieving a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 16.6% over the past 3 years”.

“With multiple multi-Crore orders, RailTel currently has a healthy order book of Rs. 5300 Cr. The company is constantly expanding its existing business and constantly exploring new areas and activities to widen its profile. We are glad to share the profit with our shareholders in the form of a Dividend. Our endeavour is to continuously enhance shareholder value through sustained good performance,” Chawla added.

RailTel is one of the largest telecom infrastructure providers in the country with a pan-India optic fibre network covering several towns & cities and rural areas of the country.

 

Along with a strong a reliable network of more than 60000 RKM of Optic fibre, RailTel has two-tier III data centres as well. The company offers services like, MPLS-VPN, telepresence, leased line, tower co-location, data centre services etc. The company is also working with the Indian Railways to transform railway stations into digital hub by providing public Wi-Fi at railway stations across the country.
