Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Opposition saying that the last 21 governments have taken decisions keeping their vote banks in mind.
Speaking at the Good Governance Day program in Delhi, the Union Home Minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre and said that it always took decisions that did good to the people of the country.
“The last 21 governments have taken decisions keeping in mind their vote banks. Narendra Modi govt never took decisions that ‘looks’ good to the people, he always took decisions that ‘did’ good to the people,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.
The Home Minister was speaking at an event in the national capital on the occasion of the Good Governance Day program.
Earlier in the day, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tribute at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ Samadhi in the national capital.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and others also paid floral tribute at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ on the occasion.
“Tributes to respected Atal ji on his birth anniversary. Remembering Atal Ji on his Jayanti. We are inspired by his rich service to the nation. He devoted his life towards making India strong and developed. His development initiatives positively impacted millions of Indians.” Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday is celebrated as the ‘Good Governance Day’,” PM Modi said in a tweet.
Vajpayee, who led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government from 1998-2004, was the first-ever leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to have become the nation’s Prime Minister.
He served as Prime Minister thrice – briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004.
