Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed confidence that the BJP will return to power in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the “Nishad Samaj Jan Sabha” rally, Shah lauded Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for wiping out mafia and goons from the state and slammed Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party for protecting such elements.
“PM Modi has laid the foundation stone of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Soon, the temple will be constructed at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi,” he said.
Shah further said that only PM Modi is moving forward with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma were also present.
The ruling BJP had in September formally announced an alliance with the Nishad (Nirbal Indian Shoshit Humara Aam Dal) Party led by Sanjay Nishad. According to the political experts, the Nishad community has been a useful electoral asset for the BJP as was seen during the previous elections.
The elections will be held to elect 403 members of the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh in the month of February to March 2022. The main contest will be seen between the BJP and Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP).
In the last assembly polls in the state, the saffron party bagged 312 seats, while SP won 47 seats, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) 19 and Congress could manage to win only seven seats. The rest of the seats were bagged by other candidates.
