Akhilesh challenges BJP in Bundelkhand; raises ‘inflation, unemployment, farmer incomes’ to swing SP’s fortune

Taking the fight to the BJP den, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday challenged the ruling saffron party in the state and said that the people of Uttar Pradesh will “reject” the government of “fake promises” in the 2022 Assembly polls.

“All doors will be shut for BJP in Bundelkhand this time. People won’t accept their fake promises and will make sure BJP does not come to power. Inflation, unemployment and reduced farmers income are the issues that will decide BJP’s fate in the upcoming polls,” Yadav, who is also a former chief minister of UP, said in Jhansi.

Yadav alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s policy of governance is to “kill and rule”, by doing which its government has left even the British behind in terms of atrocities.

“This government has left behind the British in terms of atrocities. Farmers are crushed to death by vehicles for opposing the government and no concrete action has been taken in the (Lakhimpur Kheri) matter so far. Those who oppose are being put in jail. Their policy is ‘maro aur raj karo’ (kill and rule). There has been a rise in fake encounters under this government. For this, the BJP government has got the maximum number of notices from NHRC (National Human Rights Commission). What can be expected from a chief minister who withdraws cases against himself,” Yadav said targeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Furthermore, he accused the BJP of hijacking the projects and developmental works started by the previous regimes and making it their own by just changing the names.

“By changing the world’s best (crime) response system Dial 100 to Dial 112, the BJP ruined it. It has given a shock to people by increasing electricity bills. This government has broken all records of corruption and crime… If Samajwadi Party can build the expressway in 22 months, why did BJP take 4.5 years to do the same work? This is because they don’t want to work for the welfare of people in UP. The public will also refuse the Congress and they will get 0 seats in the upcoming elections,” Yadav claimed.
