Veteran actor Anupam Kher had taken to social media to share that his wife, actress and MP Kirron Kher was diagnosed with multiple myeloma earlier this year. Ever since the news, her son and actor Sikandar Kher has been sharing health updates of his mother on social media. Kirron Kher, too, often updates fans about her health, and she has now returned to India’s Got Talent as a judge.
In an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, actor Sikandar Kher opened up about his mother’s health. The actor shared that his mom is a strong lady with a positive outlook, and just like her, the entire Kher family has kept a positive outlook towards it all.
“She is a strong fighting lady with a positive outlook, and we also are all like that,” he said, adding, “Our lives are still moving on. She is busy doing her work, I am busy doing my work and my dad is busy doing his work. Simple.” The actor shared that one doesn’t know what happens tomorrow and some things are not in anybody’s control and hence, it’s best to keep it as simple and normal as possible.
In a heartwarming video shared by Shilpa Shetty, the veteran actress recently joked that she wanted to sell her jewellery as her son is not getting married. To this, Sikandar hilariously said that he often wears his mom’s sarees and jewellery for cardio sessions. The actor also added that his mom wants him to get married and have children.
On the work front, the actor is all set to return as Daulat in Aarya Season 2. Set to stream on Disney+ Hostar from December 10, Aarya co-stars Sushmita Sen, Vikas Kumar, Maya Sarao and more. The trailer of the second instalment of the International Emmy Award-nominated show was released recently, and the actor is elated with the response the video has received so far. Opening up about returning as Daulat in the second season, Sikandar shared it did take a little time to find the character again.
Asked if there are thoughts of not doing something a certain way after the first season, the actor explained that he will “end up doing something wrong” if he thinks on these lines.
“I just go on the set and a lot of things are in the director’s hands. Then I just know my character, I know the script and I know what’s happening, so I know the person I am playing,” he said. He further added that even on the set, he doesn’t go to the monitor to see his takes. “I don’t think of all this, I just have to be in that moment,” he added.
The actor is also happy to have reunited with the Aarya family. “The whole Aarya family met after a pretty long time. There were also some new people added, so it was amazing! Sushmita is superb, she has great energy, she is positive and she is super nice to work with,” he said.
