Chennai Braves take on Northern Warriors in the 14th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021/22 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, November 24, at 9:30 PM (IST).
Both the teams have struggled to get going in the tournament and are yet to win a single game so far. Chennai Braves have lost all four matches and are at the bottom of the table.
In their last match against Bangla Tigers, they suffered a nine-wicket defeat. Chennai Braves batted first and could only manage to get to 90/6 from their ten overs. Angelo Perera (26) and Samiullah Shinwari (20) top-scored in a disappointing batting effort. It was clearly a below-par score and not enough to win a game in this format more often than not.
Bangla Tigers made it look even worse as they overhauled the target in just 4.2 overs, making a mockery of the Chennai Braves’ bowling unit. They were outplayed in all departments and such a loss will only dampen their spirits.
However, defending champions Northern Warriors are having a poor run as well. With a similar campaign, they have failed to win a single game out of the four that they have played. Northern Warriors are coming off a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Deccan Gladiators.
Their batters failed to turn up once again, scoring only 70/6 batting first. They were reduced to 34/5 as the top and middle-order collapsed. Samit Patel scored a 13-ball 21.
As expected. Deccan Gladiators made light work, hunting down the total in 7.1 overs. Joshua Little, Abhimanyu Mithun, and Imran Tahir were impressive with the ball but did not have runs on the board to play with.
While things have been wayward for both sides, either of them will go on to get their first points in the tournament as they face each other.
