Some serious pace: Twitterati reacts hilariously as speed gun shows Hasan Ali bowled 219 km/hr delivery vs Bangladesh

It has not taken long for international cricket to resume following the end of the 2021 T20 World Cup with bilateral series’ taking place all over the world. While India are hosting New Zealand, Pakistan are on a visit to Bangladesh.

In the first T20I of a three-match series, Babar Azam’s men defeated the hosts by a narrow margin of four wickets in a thrilling last-over finish. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz were the heroes for Pakistan with the bat as they held their nerve to take the visitors home in a low-scoring match.

After being blamed for Pakistan’s T20 World cup semi-final defeat, Hasan Ali made a brilliant comeback for Pakistan by winning the man of the match award. In his four-over spell, he took three wickets and conceded just 22 runs to help Pakistan restrict Bangladesh to a total of just 127 in 20 overs.

However, Hasan Ali became the talk of the town due to a speed gun error. A delivery from him in the second over of the game showed a speed of 219 km/hr or 136.1 mph on television screens.

Cricket fans from all around the world noticed the error and reacted hilariously on social media with the image going viral.

Hasan Ali took the wickets of Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim, wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan, and Aminul Islam. Out of Pakistan’s first-choice attack that featured in the T20 World Cup, Hasan was the one who featured in Friday’s clash with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf rested.

The two teams will face each other in the second game of the series at the same venue in Mirpur on Saturday before playing the final game of the limited-overs leg of the tour on Monday.

Following the T20I series, the two teams will face each other in a two-match Test series starting from 26th November. The second Test will begin on 4th December.
