Dulquer Salmaan pens an emotional note as Kurup enters Rs 50 crore club in just 4 days

Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup has finally hit the theatres on November 12, 2021. The crime thriller was released across 505 theatres and multiplexes in Kerala. More than 2000 screenings were held on the first day alone. Directed by Srinath Rajendran, the movie has Sobhitha Dhulipalla as the lead.

Dulquer played the lead role in this movie. The film also features Sobhita Indrajith Sukumaran, Shine Tom Chacko, Sunny Wayne and Bharath Niwas in supporting roles. The film has been received positive responses from critics and audiences alike.

Now, Kurup has reached the Rs 50-Crore mark at the worldwide box office collection in just 4 days. Dulquer took to his Instagram handle and officially announced this news. The actor also expressed his gratitude and thanked everyone for helping him to achieve this milestone. 

Sharing the special poster and he wrote, “Wow!! This is huge !!! I cannot even fathom it. The sleepless nights, the countless moments of uncertainty and self-doubt, the sheer amount of stress and pressure over going through uncharted territories has all paid off. When we set out we just wanted to give the film our best and pray you all love it. I have no idea how to put in words the gratitude I have for all of you.”

He further added: “Thank you for accepting us with open arms. Thank you for coming back to the theaters. Thank you for giving us so much love. This is not just mine or my te am’s win. This is a win for everyone. Let’s bring back more movies into theaters. Let’s get back to normal. Sending you all lots of love and gratitude to each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.”

Kurup, which is based on the life of Kerala’s most-wanted criminal named Sukumara Kurup, who was accused of murdering Chacko, a film representative in 1984. Kurup is jointly produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films in association with M-Star Entertainments. The movie has screenplay and dialogues written by KS Aravind and Daniell Sayooj Nair.

On the work front, Dulquer had completed the shooting of his next film Salute, which is being directed by Rosshan Andrrews. He also has King of Kotha, Othiram Kadakam, Hey Sinamika and an untitled Telugu film in his kitty.
