Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq started a trend in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. Saqlain carried the Pakistan national flag to the training ground, with an aim to up the spirits of the players and the squad. He continued the trend, carrying the national flag to the training ground as Pakistan gear up ahead of the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), shared images of the training session on their official Twitter handle on Tuesday. In the pictures, the Pakistan national flag is seen on the ground where the team kick-started their training session. However, this trend by Saqlain Mushtaq was not received well by fans of the Bangladesh cricket team. Not impressed with the same, many of them took to Twitter to express their thoughts and displeasure.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s National selectors on Monday announced the squad for the Test series against Bangladesh. The two nations will square off in a couple of Tests. While the first Test will be played in Chittagong from November 26 to 30, the second Test shall take place at Dhaka from December 4 to 8.
Opening batter Imam-Ul-Haq, middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam and off-spinner Bilal Asif have found places in the 20-man squad. They have replaced Haris Rauf, Imran Butt, Shahnawaz Danahi, and Yasir Shah, who were in the 21-man squad when Pakistan toured West Indies earlier in July/August.
Imam-Ul-Haq has put up some wonderful performances in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan’s domestic tournament, where he has scored 488 runs in five innings from four games so far. It also includes a double-hundred. Making a return to the Test side, Imam last played a match in the longest format against Australia in Adelaide in November/December 2019.
