Chhattisgarh has been ranked amongst the top five states known for best governance, according to the Public Affairs Index (PAI), while it has achieved the third position on sustainability index.
Chhattisgarh has been ranked fourth in the list of best-governed states in the year 2021 as it has scored 0.872 as per the PAI 2021 which analyses governance by looking into growth, equity and sustainability indicators, according to a government release.
Kerala has once again been ranked as the state with the best governance, a position it has held ever since PAI started publishing the index five years ago. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh has scored the last rank (18) for the quality of its governance.
“We are ranked among the top three States in all major pillars analysed in the index including equity, growth and sustainability,” Vijayan had tweeted on Wednesday.
According to the 6th edition of the Public Affairs Index (PAI 2021) report by the Public Affairs Centre (PAC), a Bengaluru-based non-profit think tank, Chhattisgarh has scored 0.946 in the sustainability index.
“The sustainability index ranks states based on access to and use of resources. This has an impact on the economy, environment and humankind,” the government release said. Adding, “PAI 2021 highlights the state government’s quality governance and especially the state’s government involvement over the curb of Covid-19. The report is published by the Hindu.”
Chhattisgarh has been getting appreciation for its welfare schemes across the country.
