Conspiracy to defame MVA govt being executed by BJP via Sameer Wankhede, claims Nawab Malik

Nationalist Congress Party leader Nawab Malik has reiterated that the conspiracy to defame Maharashtra’s MVA government and people is being executed by the BJP via  Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Sameer Wankhede.

His statement comes after Wankhede moved to Bombay High Court seeking protection from possible arrest.

“It’s BJP conspiracy. Yogi Maharaj wants a Film City in Noida. It’s their misconception if they think ‘UPwood’ will come up by defaming Bollywood,” he added.

Addressing a press conference, Malik, in an indirect reference to Kiran Gosavi, said that the man who was dragging Aryan Khan to the NCB office is now behind bars.

He also took a dig at Wankhede and his wife over her letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray saying that the situation has completely changed.

The man who was doing everything to ensure that Aryan Khan and others are not given bail was knocking on the court’s door yesterday, he added.

‘My fight is against injustice’

Reacting to the letter, he said he never made any comments on her and saying that his fight is against injustice, asked “is he not a Marathi?”

“His Sameer Wankhede family wrote to CM yesterday that they are Marathis and being a Marathi CM should help them. Nawab Malik’s family too has been in this city for 70 years. I was born in 1959 and have been a citizen of this city,” he added.

In her letter to the Maharashtra CM, the NCB officer’s wife said that being a Marathi person, she expects justice as her personal life is unnecessarily being dragged into a controversy.

“Had late Balasaheb Thackeray been alive today, he would not have tolerated such personal attack on a woman’s dignity,” she added.

Nawab Malik playing low-level politics: Kranti Redkar Wankhede

Redkar had also slammed Malik for playing “low level” politics by making various allegations against her husband.

Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede rejected Malik’s allegations that he didn’t nab Kashif Khan, one of the organisers of the cruise party as he was a friend and termed it a lie.

“Absolutely a lie and I can’t comment. Law will take its own course,” he added.

Wankhede is in the eye of a political storm following allegations of extortion in the high-profile cruise drugs case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested and later granted bail. The officer is also facing the departmental vigilance probe.
