Sydney Thunder Women lost their only game in the tournament so far to Adelaide Strikers Women. They are at the bottom of the table with no points on the board yet. Adelaide Strikers Women set them a target of 141, after scoring 140/7. Sammy-Jo Johnson and Lauren Smith picked up two wickets each. 

Sydney Thunder Women could not match the effort as they were bowled out for just 110 runs eventually. Corinne Hall (38) and Anika Learoyd (23) were the only significant performers with the bat in what was a dismal show. Therefore, they went down by 30 runs.

However, their previous game against the Melbourne Stars Women, in the reverse fixture, resulted in their first defeat of the season. They were set a target of 140 runs after bowling first. Sydney Sixers Women could only manage to get to 109/8, thus falling short by 30 runs. Skipper Ellyse Perry (40) and Ashleigh Gardner (31) played crucial knocks, although in vain. 

While Sydney Thunder Women search for their first win, Sydney Sixers Women will look to get back to winning ways as the two sides clash in the darby.
