Pawar accuses Centre of destabilizing non-BJP governed states, says ‘MVA will complete its term and come to power again’

Accusing the Union government of trying to destabilize non-BJP governed states, Nationalist Congress Party chief (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar said that investigation agencies like CBI, ED, IT and NCB are being misused.

Addressing a gathering in Pune, Pawar said that Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government will complete its 5 years term and will return to power again.

When asked about the extension of BSF’s operational jurisdiction, Pawar said he will be meeting Home Minister Amit Shah t know his thoughts about it.

This is not the first time, Pawar has slammed the Central government agencies.

Earlier this month, he termed the I-T raids on his nephew and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s relatives, because he had compared the Lakhimpur Kheri violence to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

“Don’t we have the right to air our views in democracy?” he had asked.

This statement from the Maratha satrap comes after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made similar allegations against the BJP-led Union government while addressing the traditional Dussehra rally in Mumbai

Thackeray had said that Shiv Sena is not scared of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).

“Shivaji Maharaj and party founder Balasaheb taught them that they should not be afraid of anything. We are not the ones to hide behind Police after making threats,” he had said.

Launching a scathing attack on his former ally BJP, Uddhav said that “Hindutva” was facing threat from those who used it to get power and the hunger for power was like “drug addiction”.

Accusing the BJP of maligning Maharashtra, he said, “They call Mumbai police mafia, what will you call the UP police then?”

Reacting to his remark that the Centre is using the drugs-on-cruise case to defame the state, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said that Uddhav’s name will be recorded as the chief of the most corrupt government in Maharashtra.

“If we had to use central agencies, then half of your ministers would have been in jail. But we believe in democracy. Our Prime Minister believes in ethical politics. There has never been a misuse of agencies through his medium,” he added.
