In a shocking turn of events, popular television and film actor Sidharth Shukla breathed his last on September 2, 2021. The entertainment industry is shocked over the untimely passing of the actor, who had established himself as a force to reckon with. Actress Richa Chadha, who never had a chance to meet the actor, opened up about the shocking news in an interview with Times Now Digital.
The actress shared that she had never seen him in person, only on the screen, but has no words about the news. “What can you say to a mother who has outlived her son, to a sister who is watching her brother die… Fans are one thing, the industry is one thing but the family… what his family is going through is really something terrible. I just have no words, this is so tragic,” said the actress.
Richa, saddened by the news, shared that she can’t fathom what can trigger a heart attack at the age of 40, and added that another actor, Amit Mistry, also lost his life to a cardiac arrest this year. “I don’t know what can cause something like this. I know stress is a very big factor causing cardiac arrest. But he was just 40 years old. He seemed to be fit, seemed to be working out, eating a proper diet… Just like the rest of the industry, I am not only shocked but I just don’t get it,” shared the actress.
Richa hoped that people learn to be kind to each other and to themselves as well. While fans get to see a one-sided picture of the actors’ lives, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes. “The fact is, that for an actor, it’s a difficult lifestyle. It’s not easy. You have to constantly be with people, you have to be constantly available on social media and you have to do a lot of things that maybe don’t come naturally to you,” she said, adding that if she wasn’t an actor, she probably wouldn’t have been very active on social media.
“Everything makes a difference to your state of mind I guess. It’s very very very sad and it’s so heartbreaking – he seemed to be doing well for himself and his family, he even won the reality show Bigg Boss. It’s really sad,” she said, and added, “This is the second person I am hearing of in the year who is in their 40s, and died of a heart attack. It’s just shocking.”
On the work front, Richa will now star in Candy, set to premiere on Voot. The show, co-starring Ronit Roy, has been created by Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha. The show is slated for a release on September 8.
