Fresh from being released from the Portugal national team squad amid the ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifiers, goal machine Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Carrington to train with his new teammates on Tuesday. One of the biggest names in world football, superstar Ronaldo completed his fairy-tale return to Old Trafford from Juventus on the final day of the recently concluded summer transfer window in the English Premier League (EPL).
Nicknamed CR7, the 36-year-old had earlier touched down Manchester but the former Real Madrid and Juventus star had to quarantine himself on his arrival from international duty. Ronaldo was finally out of the quarantine on Tuesday and the Portugal captain reportedly had his first training session with his new teammates at Manchester United. Ronaldo also had his first meeting with Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his return to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo, who shattered Daei’s world record by surpassing his tally of 109 international goals was suspended for Portugal’s previous World Cup qualifier in Azerbaijan. Thus, Ronaldo was able to fast-track his return to Old Trafford by arriving in Manchester on Thursday.
Ronaldo had a fruitful meeting with Solskjaer, who was his teammate during the forward’s previous stint at Manchester United. Besides meeting Solskjaer, Ronaldo was also introduced to the players as United are gearing for the upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United.
