Lucky are the ones who have a smooth start in Bollywood. Most of the noted actors and musicians who are successful today have had a difficult beginning in the industry. Things weren’t served on a silver platter for many artistes, who enjoy a massive fan following today. They had to work hard in order to achieve their goals and ambitions. And while they are on the way to attain their goals, they are met with many rejections. The same is the case with Tony Kakkar, who is a successful musician today.

In a recent interview with Times Now Digital, Tony went down memory lane and recalled the rejections he faced at the beginning of his career. The singer, who recently crooned Saath Kya Nibhaoge, spoke about a phase where he faced multiple rejections.

Opening up about it, Tony told us, “Definitely Pooja (Bhatt) ma’am was not the first producer who I met. I had met 7 to 8 producers and directors unhe kisi ko bhi pasand nahi aaya tha, woh bohot disheartening tha (that was disheartening for me). When the song wasn’t even released, that time Pooja ma’am’s acceptance and validation was a big thing for me. And the fact that Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja ma’am said we are doing this song in our film (was a big thing) (sic).

The singer further shared that even though the film released later, he was happy that his track Sawan Aaya Hai was released by Bhushan Kumar’s T Series. Before the track was released, Tony stated that he faced only rejections, and had acceptance been there, his song would have released earlier. “Rejection tha (There was a rejection) and that was very disheartening,” the singer added.

Apart from being candid about his rejections, Tony spoke about working with Sonu Sood for the track, Saath Kya Nibhaoge. On being asked about the same, Tony told us, “Sony sir is a sweet soul and he is a lovely person. I only spoke with him on a call as I am not there in the video, only he is present in it. But whenever we spoke on a call, he showered me with a lot of love and sabse bada pyaar toh mujhe tabhi pata chala when he agreed to do this track.”

Talking about Saath Kya Nibhaoge, it is the recreation of the hit Hindi song Tum Toh There Pardesi by Altaf Raja.
