Baahubali actor Prabhas’ upcoming film Saalar, directed by KGF fame Prasnath Neel with Shruti Haasan as the female lead is one of the most anticipated films of the year. A few weeks ago, the cast and crew wrapped up the second schedule of the film in Hyderabad.
On Monday, the makers surprised the fans with a first look of Jagapathi Babu and introduced him as the character of Rajamannar. The actor looks intense and raw with a rugged beard, nose ring and wrinkled face.
The film’s director Prasnath shared the first look of Jagapathi Babu on his official Twitter handle. He wrote, “Introducing #Rajamanaar. Thank you @IamJagguBhai for being a part of #Salaar. #Prabhas @shrutihaasan @VKiragandur @hombalefilms @HombaleGroup @bhuvangowda84 @BasrurRavi @shivakumarart @anbariv (Sic).”
Sharing the first look poster, the 41-year-old actor Jagapathi Babu wrote on Twitter, “This is the best of my worst look ever. #Salaar..Thanks to @prashanth_neel, #Prabhas, @VKiragandur, @hombalefilms, and the entire crew. Really excited to give my best with the help of #PrashanthNeel, I fell in love with myself – ur forever (Sic).”
Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, who is bankrolling the KGF franchise, will be producing this film as well. Salaar is tipped to be an action thriller with Prabhas playing a violent character. Apart from Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, Kannada actor Madhu Guruswamy is to play a crucial role in the film.
Being shot simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu languages, Salaar will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. The music is composed by Ravi Basrur while cinematography is handled by Bhuvan Gowda. Salaar is slated to release worldwide in theatres on April 14th, 2022.
On the work front, Prabhas has exciting projects lined up with Radha Krishna Kumar’s Radhe Shyam, which will see Pooja Hegde as his co-star. The romantic drama also stars veteran actress Bhagyashree, Kunaal Roy Kapoor, Murli Sharma, Riddhi Kumar, Sasha Chettri and Sathyan, and many others in pivotal roles. It is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is all slated to release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. He is also a part of Adipurush, directed by Om Raut.
